In 1842, Inventor Jerome Increase Case founded Case within Racine. He started making threshing machinery. The business later gained worldwide recognition as the initial maker of steam engines for its agricultural application. Case had established themselves in the construction equipment business by the year 1912. They became a manufacturer of road building machinery including steam rollers and road graders. Case grew their construction machine company through various acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation in the year 1957. Case had expanded their company by the middle part of the 1990s to become the leading producer of light-sized to medium-sized construction machinery.
In the year 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This business became responsible for advertising several of the leading brands of construction and agricultural equipment in the world.
