Because of their simplicity compared to a conventional DC motor, Hyster has transitioned to the AC traction and pump motors. When utilized in a regular working environment, the AC motor's periodic maintenance intervals could be as much as 500 hours. There is no need to service brushes, motor commutators or brush rigging and there is no arching, sparking, or maintenance. In addition, these motors develop lower temperatures overall when compared to DC motors that give the same output. Hyster AC traction and pump motors provide better thermal performance, speed capabilities, more torque, and continued reliability.



Hyster Vista masts are top of the industry masts that are made of solid steel cast cross members and have a big window for better visibility. They have full-face straight load rollers which are canted at three degrees and feature the nested channel design. Furthermore, brass side thrust plugs enable the operator to easily make adjustments to the mast during maintenance without removing or disassembling the mast. The Vista mast is designed and made by Hyster to accurate specs.



Hyster forklifts feature the industry's most reliable steer axle within the industry for hydrostatic steering. This steer axle requires no or little maintenance and has been built to be reliable and durable. For added safety, the Operator Pre-Shift Checklist requires the operator to answer certain questions to ensure that the unit has been checked before using it. This is an optional feature that means the lift could be programmed not to start if there is an issue that requires attention before lift operation or if the checklist is not completed.
