Audible Devices - Motion or back-Up Alarms:
Back-up alarms and motion alarms are audio device accessories which generate enough sound so that the sound is heard overtop the sounds produced from the forklift itself.
The sound generated by the audio device should be discernible from other audible devices or sounds from the work setting. The sound should also be different from the other sound or audible devices within the work area. The audible device could end up contributing to OSHA noise limitation and to employee noise exposure; hence, care must be taken.
Determine the distance and direction the sound of the audible device is made harder because of the use of hearing protection. Audible devices can occasionally get deactivated from both employees and operators since they could find them irritating. As well, audible devices can also be objectionable to nearby residents.
Additional Application and Operator Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: Operator enclosed cabs help to protect the operator from the elements. They utilize tempered glass so as to avoid injuries. Furthermore, these cabs feature an emergency exit via window removal. Noise levels are reduced at the operator's ear due to additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: For every specific application, the operator is able to choose the performance requirement. In addition, it enables a supervisor to set the unit's utmost performance for an operator who is just learning. Being able to lessen and adjust the model's utmost performance allows a new operator to learn the equipment's operating features in a controlled setting.
Impact Monitor: When the impact monitor is deactivated, a supervisor is needed to enable and override the model. This encourages the operator to be certain to manage the machinery in a more controlled manner.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These specific mirrors help to assist the operator in observing the operating space behind the vehicle, and their tail swing area.
