Seat Belts for Counterbalances

A kind of machinery that could carry loads which are approximately 30,000 lbs is a forklift. A forklift is also referred to as a counterbalance. Despite being large and sturdy, these industrial machinery still bear the possible risk of crash or accident. In order to be safe, be sure to have operators wear the correct seat belt in the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are on board. We all know that in case of an accident, seat belts can save lives.



Three-Point Seat Belt

Three-point seat belts could extend over the lap and across the upper body. These belts offer an added degree of safety by protecting your body. They are available in both bucket-seat and bench-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either retractable and non-retractable kinds.



The majority of modern vehicles available provide retractable seat belts. Though non-retractable types increase safety, retractable kinds offer more comfort. It is truly not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.



Lap belts

The type of seat belt that only extends over the lower part of the body is a two-point lap belt. The majority of lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, simply press on the belt button and then the two sides would separate.



Circuit-closed seat belt

The kind of seat belt that forces a forklift operator to wear a seat belt is a circuit-closed seat belt. These kinds of seat belts have a micro-switch attached that sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band kinds.
