Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck offering great height and versatility. The crane, or arm, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the person using it to raise the load to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Standard lift trucks could not move the load away from and towards the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in both agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments referred to as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which enable the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when picking up a cargo. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck would often use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This kind of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A man basket is a lift platform designed specifically to lift employees. The basket attaches to the forklift forks, held in with a chain or strap that is to be directly secured to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
