Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is used for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This particular kind is recommended for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, such as retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering simple.
Generally, the operator of this particular kind of forklift stands up inside a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: two in the front, and one in the rear. This configuration allows for fast and easy maneuvering. There are several models of these forklifts which are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, allowing the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the whole machine. The sit-down version usually has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered by an electric engine. Electric-powered equipment are quiet and do not make exhaust fumes, making them the preferred choice for closed places like for instance retail spaces. Several lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Then again, the diesel version is not suggested for indoor use as it can produce exhaust and be noisy.
